Amazon Ads API

Authorise INGB to read your campaigns, spend and search terms.

Amazon Ads API

Ads API is the workhorse of INGB. Connecting it unlocks Ads management, Reports, the Account audit, and the spend half of Performance.

Before you start

  1. You need an Amazon Advertising Console account

Sign in at advertising.amazon.com once to confirm you have access. If you can see campaigns there, you're ready.

  2. Know your advertiser profile(s)

Amazon assigns a profile per marketplace per advertiser. A brand selling in US, UK, and DE will have three profiles.

Connect the integration

  1. Open Your setup

Pick your company in the top bar; Home opens Your setup. On the Your Amazon advertising card, click Connect Amazon advertising.

  2. Authorise on Login-With-Amazon

Amazon shows the requested scopes. Confirm and you're redirected back to INGB with an authorisation code.

  3. First sync runs

Pick the advertising profile INGB should read. INGB exchanges the code for a refresh token (kept server-side, in a column no signed-in user can read) and begins ingesting your campaign, ad-group, ad, target, and search-term data for that profile. Status appears on the Your Amazon advertising card.

  4. Backfill more history (optional)

By default the connection captures forward-looking data. To pull a past window, use Historical sync to backfill up to 90 days (Sponsored Brands: 60, Sponsored Display: 65 — Amazon keeps no older reports).

Scope

INGB requests the advertising::campaign_management scope, because that is the scope Amazon requires for reading campaigns, targets and reports. The same scope would technically allow changes, but INGB does not change your campaigns: no bid, budget, negative or status is ever written to Amazon. The only thing INGB creates on your account is a Marketing Stream subscription, which delivers hourly figures.

Best practices

Do
  • ✓Authorise every advertiser profile you actively spend in — partial coverage means partial insight.
  • ✓If you have multiple marketplaces, connect them all at once so cross-marketplace dashboards work.
  • ✓Run a Historical sync after connecting to give analytics, alerts, and forecasts more signal to work with.
Don't
  • ✗Use a personal Amazon account if multiple people on your team need to manage it.
  • ✗Disconnect & reconnect to 'try again' — you'll lose the connection state.
